NYMA Conservation Awards
This award runs bi-annually, to complement NYMA’s President’s Award. Originally part of a national set of awards set up by the Association of National Parks, NYMA now administers the Conservation Awards, in association with the North York Moors National Park Authority. Both bodies contribute financially to the Award, which honours a range of exemplary schemes set up within the Park which in some way add to its beauty and enjoyment or help preserve a natural aspect of the landscape.
Past schemes that have won this include:
• The Management of Woodland for Wildlife, Danby
• The Juniper Re-reneration Project
• Good Farm Conservation Practice, Westerdale
• A Village Hall Project, Faceby
• Community Woodland Project, Littlebeck
• 18thCentury Ice House Renovation, Wykeham
• Oak Plantation Project, Staithes
• Restoration of Egton Mortuary Chapel
• Woodside River Corridor, River Esk Conservation Scheme
• Gordon's Field, creation of an area for wildlife and visual improvement
